RCSLA Return Policy and Exchange Guidelines

At RCSLA, every product we create is made with deep intention, cultural purpose, and a high level of craftsmanship. As a small, independent fashion studio, we operate with a made-to-order production model — meaning that many of our garments are constructed only after you place your order. For this reason, we do not accept refunds.

We understand this may differ from policies offered by mass-produced brands. However, our model is based on slow fashion principles: reducing waste, honoring global craftsmanship, and creating one-of-a-kind pieces that carry meaning, not just trend. When you purchase from RCSLA, you’re not just buying a garment — you’re supporting a value system that merges fashion with culture, sustainability, and storytelling.

Some of our pieces are made from fabrics we keep in limited stock, but often, we must source textiles specifically for your order, especially when it involves handwoven or artisan materials. These textiles may come from Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Guatemala, Japan, or other regions where handmade traditions thrive. Sometimes, this sourcing requires international travel, partnership with local artisans, and custom coordination. This intensive process is part of what makes your piece unique — and also why we are unable to process refunds.

When We Accept Exchanges

We stand behind the quality of our craftsmanship and want to make sure you receive a product you love. That’s why we do accept exchanges in certain cases, specifically when:

  • You receive the wrong item due to a shipping or fulfillment error on our part

  • The item you received is defective (examples include damaged zippers, seams, broken snaps, or production flaws)

  • There is a clear mismatch between what you ordered and what was delivered (e.g., wrong size or style shipped)

If any of these issues occur, we will do our best to make it right. Please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order with photo evidence, your order number, and a clear description of the issue.

Once reviewed and approved, we will either exchange the item or offer store credit, depending on the situation and availability.

When We Do Not Accept Returns or Exchanges

Unfortunately, we do not accept exchanges or returns for the following reasons:

  • Wrong size selected by the customer

  • Change of mind after ordering

  • Fit concerns due to lack of communication or inaccurate measurements

As a brand that offers many custom and small-batch pieces, it is vital that you reach out to us before placing your order if you are unsure about sizing, fit, or fabric details. We are here to help and would rather walk you through the product specs than see you end up with something that doesn’t work for you.

We’re happy to guide you through sizing comparisons, suggest alternatives, or even send fit references based on your body type and preferences. We want you to feel confident in your decision before placing your order.

Every RCSLA piece carries a story — from the fabric we source to the final stitch sewn in our Los Angeles studio. Many of our garments are produced in extremely limited quantities or are truly one-of-a-kind. Our handmade pieces are not mass-manufactured, and often no two are exactly alike.

Because of the nature of our creative process, every order represents a deep commitment of time, energy, and intention. We appreciate your understanding that we cannot process refunds and ask that you support our small-batch, conscious model by ordering thoughtfully and communicating openly before checkout.
