Terms & Conditions – Sewing & Garment Manufacturing Services

Renaissance Creative Studios Los Angeles (RCSLA)

These Terms & Conditions govern all sewing, garment manufacturing, pattern making, sampling, design development, and production services provided by Renaissance Creative Studios Los Angeles (“RCSLA,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By engaging our services, submitting materials, approving samples, or authorizing production, you (“Client,” “you”) acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms outlined below. If you do not agree with these Terms & Conditions, please do not proceed with our services.

Scope of Services

Renaissance Creative Studios Los Angeles is a Los Angeles–based garment manufacturing and sewing studio providing professional production services to independent designers, fashion brands, creatives, and businesses. Our services include, but are not limited to, pattern making, sampling, fittings, alterations, cut-and-sew manufacturing, small-batch production, and design development. All services are performed in-house unless otherwise agreed in writing. Any scope of work, pricing, timelines, quantities, or deliverables will be communicated and approved prior to the start of production. RCSLA reserves the right to decline projects that fall outside of our production capabilities or ethical standards.

Estimates, Pricing, and Payments

All estimates provided by RCSLA are based on information supplied by the Client at the time of evaluation. Pricing may change if there are revisions to design details, materials, construction complexity, quantities, or production timelines. A non-refundable deposit is required before work begins. The remaining balance must be paid according to the agreed payment schedule. Failure to submit timely payments may result in delays, suspension of work, or termination of services. All payments made for pattern making, sampling, development, and production labor are non-refundable once work has commenced.

Client Responsibilities and Approvals

Clients are responsible for providing accurate and complete specifications, measurements, technical packs, reference garments, and materials where applicable. RCSLA is not responsible for errors, delays, or defects resulting from incomplete, inaccurate, or late information provided by the Client. Clients must carefully review and approve samples, patterns, and pre-production units before authorizing bulk production. Approval signifies acceptance of garment fit, construction, measurements, and finishing details. Once approval is given, RCSLA is not responsible for subjective dissatisfaction that does not constitute a manufacturing defect.

Samples, Patterns, and Intellectual Property

Sampling and pattern development are iterative processes and may require multiple revisions. Minor variations may occur due to fabric behavior, construction methods, or design complexity and are considered standard within the garment manufacturing industry. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, patterns developed by RCSLA remain the intellectual property of Renaissance Creative Studios Los Angeles. Unauthorized reproduction, duplication, or distribution of patterns without consent is prohibited.

Manufacturing Variations and Tolerances

Due to the nature of garment manufacturing, slight variations in sizing, color, texture, and construction may occur, particularly when working with natural fibers, specialty textiles, or handmade processes. These variations are considered acceptable industry tolerances and do not constitute defects. RCSLA does not guarantee absolute uniformity across garments in small-batch or handmade production.

Client-Supplied Materials

When materials, trims, fabrics, or components are supplied by the Client, RCSLA is not responsible for defects, inconsistencies, dye issues, shrinkage, or performance failures inherent to those materials. Any production issues caused by client-supplied materials are the responsibility of the Client. Materials left at the studio more than thirty (30) days after project completion may be discarded unless alternative arrangements are made in writing.

Production Timelines and Scheduling

All production timelines provided by RCSLA are estimates and may be affected by design changes, revision requests, material availability, or unforeseen technical challenges. RCSLA will make reasonable efforts to communicate any anticipated delays promptly. RCSLA is not liable for losses, missed deadlines, or business impact resulting from production timeline adjustments.

Cancellations and Project Termination

Once work has commenced, projects may not be canceled without financial responsibility for work completed to date. Deposits and payments for completed services are non-refundable. RCSLA reserves the right to suspend or terminate services if a project becomes unfeasible, unsafe, unethical, or outside our production capabilities. In such cases, the Client remains responsible for payment for services already rendered.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Renaissance Creative Studios Los Angeles shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of business, revenue, or opportunity, arising from the use of our services. RCSLA’s total liability shall be limited to the amount paid by the Client for the specific services giving rise to the claim.

Confidentiality and Portfolio Use

RCSLA respects the confidentiality of client designs and proprietary information. We will not disclose confidential materials to third parties without consent, except as required by law. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, RCSLA reserves the right to photograph completed work and use images for portfolio, marketing, or promotional purposes.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes arising from services provided by Renaissance Creative Studios Los Angeles shall be resolved exclusively in Los Angeles County, California.
